Instant Ice Pack

Upon activation, standard instant ice packs like ThermX rapidly drop to a temperature range between 0°C and 5°C. The pack achieves this instant drop through an endothermic chemical reaction (typically mixing water with calcium chloride, ammonium nitrate, or urea when the inner pouch is popped), which actively pulls heat out of its surroundings.

Factors That Affect the Exact Temperature:

• Ambient Temperature: In very hot outdoor environments, the pack may hover closer to the 4°C–5°C mark and lose its chill slightly faster.

• Duration: The pack will instantly drop to its coldest peak within seconds of shaking, maintain that optimal therapeutic chill for roughly 15 to 20 minutes, and then gradually return to room temperature.

⚠️ Important Safety Tip: Because the pack rapidly drops to near-freezing temperatures, you should always place a thin cloth or towel between the ice pack and your insulin or bare skin to prevent localized ice burns.
